Why Bees Die if They Sting You 🐝

Morning Busy Bees!

You know when you get stung by a bee…

But the bees like:

And… just dies?

Why do they do that?

Well, most bees actually don’t, the only bees that die from stings are honey bees…

Why?

We’ll get to that a bit later.

So, let's say you're a honeybee, just buzzing about…

But then some insect dude pisses you off for some reason…

So… you sting them.

And inject them with your venom…

But this isnt some suicide mission lol.

Honeybees can pull their stinger out of most animals and fly away just fine…

But when they sting a mammal, like us…

Their stinger… gets STUCK!

Cause look, a honeybee stinger isn't smooth like a sword, it's barbed!

And because our skin is so squishy and thick, the barbs get stuck!

So the bee pulls…

And pulls…

Until finally…

They pull SO hard it rips their guts out with the stinger.

Aaand then they die…
