Morning Mary-Kate and Ashley!
Can we get like Full-House-cute-Mary-Kate-and-Ashley?
Ya know, how do twins even happen in the first place?
I never thought this day would come at Smart Nonsense.
But it’s time we talk about the birds and the bees.
So when a man loves a woman…
Oh my god.
Wtf is going on!
Okay, hang on.
So Durdess must have been ovulating when they got down and dirty.
Basically every month, a little egg starts to grow and develop in a woman’s ovaries:
It’s called an oocyte.
And when the oocyte is mature, it’s released from the ovary, slides through a fallopian tube, and into the uterus.
This is where the magic can happen.
When Durd releases his daddy sauce into Durdess, if the timing is right Durd’s sperm will race to fertilize the single egg:
He did it!
Now look close…
Durd and Durdess just created identical twins.
One fertilized egg splits into two.
The embryos have the exact same genetic makeup from the single egg and sperm.
This is Tia-and-Tamera-Sister-Sister. Identical twins:
So how do we get a Suite Life of Zack and Cody situation?
In other words, how do fraternal twins happen?
Back to the uterus!!
Remember when that little oocyte egg descended from the ovary to the fallopian tube to the uterus?
Ya, well, for whatever reason this time two Durdess eggs matured and ovulated at the same time.
And 2 separate Durd sperms fertilize them:
Because fraternal twins are created from 2 separate sperm and 2 separate eggs, they don’t share any genetic code.
Fraternal twins are no more alike than any other siblings!
They just make for more difficult parenting for Durd and Durdess..
Wrap it up,
Henry & Dylan 🌈
