Why People Used to Look Older...

3 min read

Morning Oldies!

Check out this dude:

You see John Stamos?

Right there in the middle?

1) Hot

2) Guess his age..

34?

46?

50?!?

No.

Bro is TWENTY THREE in this photo!

Now look at a 23-year-old today:

I KNOW!!

Why did people used to look SO old??

Well, imagine it's 1985...

Here's you on a normal day:

First, you're gonna smoke a little..

Then you're gonna drink a little..

Then you’re gonna lie right here:

Until the sun goes down.

Nice.

Ya. In the 1980s, this was considered "healthy living".

Drink, chain-smoke, bake in the sun.

Which is why you look 35 when you’re actually 20.

So what changed??

Why do little boys look even littler now? Reminder:

Well, the 90s rolled around.

And suddenly everyone's obsessed with this stuff:

BANG!

WATER.

There were campaigns EVERYWHERE telling people to drink more of it.

Bottled water sales go BONKERS, becoming the most popular beverage category on Earth.

And when you're actually hydrated?

Your skin is plump, smooth, and youthful.

When you're not?

You look like a raisin.

But that's not the only thing that changed...

Turns out there’s some other whacky visual trickery that makes old things look old.

The full story is pretty wild.
